Eye For An Eye or Let He Who Hath No Sin Throw THe First Stone

I am compelled to write in response to an article I read last week. It was decidedly one sided, though well written, and supported by a large number of people. The earlier article was a call to petition against Capital Punishment and the "200th" execution in Texas. It was an angry call out to that states Governor, Rick Perry. As there are two sides to a coin, so are there opinions to this subject. Those who are taken by death, and those who make a decision to take it.

This article is for those of us who are either "on the fence" about the subject, or believe in a biblical sense of "Eye for an Eye" when someone is convicted of a Capital Murder. `As there are two sides to every coin, so are there two families who suffer with the loss of those they love. All together, since state law reincorporated Capital Punishment in December of 1983 there have been 300 legal deaths in Texas. This is the story of Keith Clay. He was the 300th, executed by lethal injection in March of 2003.
Keith Clay and two friends had driven to a convenience store for a pack of cigarettes. Ernest King, one of the men with Clay that day had went inside, made his purchase, then came out. At that time Keith walked in.

He heard gunshots and stopped cold at the window At that moment he saw Clay holding a gun. It was the one he had sold him only weeks earlier.

Keith had decided Melathethil Varughese's life was worth far less than the money in his cash register. After beating the clerk in the head with a blunt object he tied him with a cord of Christmas lights, shot him 6 times, then left the store with the black cash box in his hands. The three men then drove away.
Ironically, Keith wasn't arrested on charges that ultimately had gotten him the death penalty but had been picked up by police in connection to another, even more horrific crime in nearby Baytown. Two weeks before the robbery and murder of the convenience store clerk there had been a triple murder of a father and his two little girls.
Keith Clay was convicted of Capital murder and was sentenced and put on death row in 1997. After 6 years, in May of 2003 he had exhausted all appeals, both in state and federal courts. Within minutes of his execution his lawyer claimed that Keith had only finished high school, and that he was menatally retarded. He was unable to sway the decision and lost the appeal.

Young Reporters Face Trial In Pyongyang Thursday

As the court date nears two families are pleading for the release of their daughters Laura Ling and Euna Lee. They were arrested and imprisoned March 24th in Pyongyang North Korea. They are charged with “hostile acts” and entering the country illegally, which brings a penalty of up to 15 years of hard labor. Lisa Ling, an American actress and sister to one of the girls stated in an interview on the "Today“ show, "We’re terrified because we don’t know what to expect.” The two girls, reporters for "Current TV" were shooting video when North Korean Guards arrested them along the border of China. The trial is set for Thursday in Central Court.

I received that comment tonight on a story I recently posted about the Rihanna/Chris Brown court hearing coming up in June. The picture acompanying the story was of Rihanna, bruised and swollen, hiding behind a huge pair of sunglasses after an "altercation" she and her then boyfriend, Chris Brown had last February. I realize that Allvoices is diverse, and many cultures and countries represent it, but I wonder in which one of these this question is okay.

The sweet, "never been kissed" Susan Boyles of Britain's Got Talent fame throws F-Bombs in a London Pub while watching the shows judges praise her competition.


He is 12 year-old prodigy Shaheen Jafargholi, with the talent of a well seasoned entertainer. Susan again became boiling mad when journalist were "harassing" her in a Hotel lobby, asking her questions about the boy, and her chances for a "Britain's got Talent "win.

Father Arrested In Murder Of His Family

Thirty two year old Chris Coleman was Head of Security at his church. When neighbors described him they said "A Christian man, a "family" man."













Chris Coleman is charged in the murder of his beautiful wife Sheri, and their two young sons, Garett eleven, and Gavin, only nine years old. The three victims were found May 5th, stangled to death, each in their seperate rooms, each in their seperate beds. Red spray paint washed the walls in obseneties throughout the house in a Manson style sadistic manner. "Fu_Bitch, this is my last warning," it read, and "I'll be watching you".

Could a woman in Chris Colemans life be all it took for him to inialate his family. A hostess at a Florida strip club, with whom he was having an affair is now cooporating with police. "He told me he asked Sheri for a divorce" she said, just before the murders. A glove, covered in red spraypaint was found on the roadside not far from their middle class suburban home. Orange bailing twine and red spray paint cans have also been found. He was arrested Tuesday at the home of his parents, and is being charged with 3 counts of First Degree Murder.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight Is Enough!

Once upon a time there were two very badly behaved grownups.

One grownup stayed out all night with a 23 year old teacher, while the other headed to the Oprah studio to promote her new book. The children stayed home with the film crew and producers. Thousands of paparazzi's began folowing the grownups and their eight little children everywhere. One of the grownups got a great idea. "What if we "PRETEND" to like each other" she said, "then all the people will start watching our show, and we'll make more money than we ever dreamed of..." Sadly, as time went by, other reality shows began airing on TV that were even more disfunctional and the people got very bored with the reality show about the badly behaved grownups and started watching other networks. All of the money stopped pouring in and the grownups got cancelled. The grownups got divorced, and the eight little children had to spend alternateing weekends with the badly behaved grownups, and they got very sad and began behaving badly themselves. The End.

Health officials in Germany have found that an ingredient in the cocoa leaf could be addictive and is an additive in the popular high Energy drink "Red Bull" Trace amounts of cocaine have been found in the popular drink and has been banned in certain parts of Germany. When Bavarian Ministry for Environment, Health and Consumer Protection met to discuss the situation with Redbull Co. and answered allegations. "Based on this meeting, the Ministry has decided to officially investigate the existing examination results." They are hoping to "clear things up very soon".

Project Prom

Project Prom is day a for many young High School students who could otherwise not afford the expence of a new dress, shoes, and handbags, to attend the "Special Night", alot of young girls take for granted. All items were offered free last Friday in New York City. Along with the NYC YMCA, the yearly event gives a day to play "dress up" for more than 100 excited girls.

It came to my attention while commenting to a contributer that there is are SCAM everywhere . I am including a copy of her "comment". I have an email very similar to this one I posted a couple of months ago. She is not asking for a little money...she is asking for A LOT.

..."Facebook", one of the latest casualties in Tehran, has been blocked to keep young Iranian voters left to rely on govenment and state media for information. With an upcomeing election only three weeks away the government has placed limits on access to Facebook and other popular web sites. Over 50% of the population in Tehran were born after 1979 and the Islamic revolution. The young count on much of their political information online.

the 36 year old "mother of four, married, teacher" who stole headlines through most of the 1990's. In a high profile case she was convicted, and served seven and a half years in prison for the statutory rape of her then 13 year old student, Vili Fualaau. They had two daughters together, one born while she was in prison. Both were born before Vili's 17th birthday. He and his mother took care of the children while Mary Kay served her time. She was released in 2004, and a year later the two were married. She is now 47, he's 26. They have joined a local bar owner, Mike Morris, to promote a Saturday "Hot For Teacher" Night at a local bar in downtown Seattle. Vili is spinning records while Mary Kay greets guests and signs autographs.
"I know it started kind of sick" Morris said, "but Mary Kay served her sentence and they should have some fun." I agree.

Mayor Chooses Love Over Political Office

J. W. Lown, who was to be sworn in on Monday for his 4th term as Mayor of San Angelo, Texas resigned abruptly on Wednesday, choosing love for his partner over love of his political office. In a telephone interview with the cities Sentinal News he explained that his partner was not a legal citizen in America and he would not be part of "aiding and assisting" anyone to reside here illegally. They decided enstead to move to Mexico where they could be together.

$75,000 Sellout? Jon and Kate New Season Preview

To say things were a little "frosty" between the feuding couple, Jon and Kate Gosselin, would be an understatement. The preview of the returning season, released Wednesday, opens with the family hosting a birthday party for their now 5 year old sextuplets. Jon, subtly mentioning his love for his "children, God, and family" made no mention of his wife. Kate, usually along side her husband on the family love seat, alone now says, "Everything is falling apart, I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders .... " (take a deep breath Kate) "I will not give up. I will not lay down and die." It makes one wonder that the $75,000 plus per episode paycheck was the cost of selling out her family.



The reality show, which premiers on Monday, will undeniabley enjoy a substantial increase in ratings, while America, sadly, watches a marriage fall apart.

No "Boundaries" on Idol

American Idol was fabulous this year. The talent was unmistakabley the best ever, but...


What about that HORRIBLE song? "No Boundaries," sung by both Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, final contestants on American Idol, is one of the worst songs ever written by "professional songwriter"Karla Diaguardio.

I would have mistaken it for the romantic ramblings of a' tween-age girl had I not known better. Watching the two incredabley talented guys suffer through it was just painful. Will the gratingly obnoxious song follow Kris through this Idol year? Maybe Adam got lucky! My hope is that little promo trick does not go down next year.

Maxim Magazine Bills Michelle "a Stimulous Pkg. America Needs"

For the first time in US history a First Lady has made Maxim magazine's annual top 100 list of "hottest women in the world," with Michelle Obama making the grade at #93. She was billed as "a stimulus package America really needs,"

The word I'm having a problem with is "Hot". Jessica Alba is "Hot", so is Pamela Anderson, and Halle Barry. Michelle is a beautiful woman. She's classic in style and has a wonderfully refreshing sense of humor. I prefer to compare her to Jackie O', who had grace, impeccable taste and timelessness.

I have to agree with Iman, who said "Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty, but she is so

interesting looking and bright. That will always take you farther."

If you aren't familiar with "Breaking Bad", Sunday nights on AMC, don't hesitate to change the channel and watch. Even better, cable TV's "On Demand" reruns the latest episode the following day... commercial free!
It's not for the kids, so airs late, after prime time. There's language, violence, and drug use. The characters are real, and sometimes frightening. Unusual to say the least, you actually root for the bad guys.
The story follows Walter White, who is a Chemistry teacher living in New Mexico. He is married and has a handicapped teen aged son.
White is diagnosed with cancer and is given the news he has only two years, at best, to live. Money is tight on a teachers salary, his wife is pregnant, his house is falling apart. He has to find a way to take care of his family...after his death.
What would ANY white collar, suburban dwelling family man do? He enlists a tough, troubled student, (cute, cute, cute, for the ladies) buys an old travel trailer and builds a lab...

Where the Hell is Jon?

What did you think would happen?



Amid rumors that her husband had an affair with a 23 year old girl, and she herself with her married bodyguard, television personality Kate Gosselin says she never cheated on her husband...

Anyone who reads the tabloids (and lately main-stream news) knows the story of Jon and Kate. The reality TV couple raising eight children are not only fighting off rumors that each have had, or are having, affairs. Both, of course, are denying it. Now the TLC producers of "Jon and Kate plus 8" are trying to figure out how to present the "marital issues " for the new upcoming season. Talk about priorities!












It would be funny if it weren't so tragic. The mighty Kate cries foul on Larry King "The allegations they're making about me are disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable, and I'm horrified" (about the rumors Kate, or being caught?)

Reality Bites

Didn't the Gosselin's create their own demise? Isn't marriage hard enough without allowing a roomful of cameras to follow you around in your bathrobes, recording every move you make? Have you not watched your own show? Have you not noticed Jon, who seems he would rather chew off his right arm than stay home.
Wouldn't it seem a couple who loved one another would ask the media for a little privacy. Give them a chance to work things out? Not this couple. Kate has went on a personal rampage from talk show to talk show, voicing her outrage. If you didn't know her before, you sure know her now.

By the way, where are the children? And where the hell is Jon...

Of course Susan Boyles could win "America's Got Talent" without a make-over. She sings beautifully and people really like her. I wonder though, what all the controversey is about a little color, cut, and tweeze.

When did a "make-over" become a bad thing? Young women grow up believing the Ugly Duckling turns into a swan, and Cinderella always went to the Ball. I'm not talking about surgery here, just a little blush and mascara, and wash out a little gray in the hair. Susan Boyles was blessed with a beautiful voice...what would change if she looked pretty too?


The Commentary:

By all means let's mock the old mainstream media as they preen and party on in a Washington ballroom. Let’s deplore the tabloid journalism that, like the cockroach, will always be with us. But if a comprehensive array of real news is to be part of the picture as well, the time will soon arrive for us to put up or shut up. Whatever shape journalism ultimately takes in America, make no mistake that in the end we will get what we pay for.

I did this one 12 years ago.
To do this kind of work I was simply using 3 colors...Cadmium Yellow, Bright red and ultramarine blue (All transparent) + some smoke gray and black
I only had a day to complete it.
It made the front cover and the magazine and it went sold out.
I wanted to share this with you guys!

I had discovered Dominic's work a few months back while blog surfing, learning what a blog was, and what I would like my own to look and feel like. Amature artist that I am (and I do mean amature) I was so proud of myself, recognizing the difference in his work and comparing it to what I was seeing in many others. Something drew me to it. I, me, Sofie, had personally found the next great artist!
I emailed him to be sure it would be okay to occasionally post his work on my site. He was so gracious, and responded to me personally that it would be fine. At one point I had even written a caption that it would "class up my site". I told everyone that would listen he would be "famous someday".

Well...I ran across this post this morning...Dominic, is my face Red!

About 30 media outlets, including paparazzi, Cable News Network and the Associated Press, gathered in the small, 15th-floor room, where Gloria Allred read mostly from a prepared statement. "These children are entitled to the protection of the law," she said.
Nadya Suleman, aka the Octomom, may be violating child labor laws, according to Allred.
She continues her barrage against Nadya "Octomom" Suleman, this time filing a petition alleging that Suleman is commercially exploiting her babies and asking an Orange County, Calif., judge to appoint a guardian of the estate, Usmagazine.com reports.
Allred says that Suleman is making money from selling pictures of the babies and there have been rumors of a reality show in the works, and may be violating child labor laws, in addition to the laws of nature. (Okay, we allege that last part.)

Someone please, GAG Gloria Allred! Does she get up in the morning plotting her next move against Nadya Suleman? Does she stand in front of her mirror rehearsing what she'll say to the next reporter she happens to buy a little face time from?
She's sour grapes. She's pissed off. A little like a spurned lover (can anyone say "restraining order!) She and her "angels" got their interfering asses thrown out by Octomom, one of the "commoners". That's the bottom line. She does'nt care about the babies... just her [all red] face on TV and her name in the newspapers.
Okay, so how does Octomom plan to take care of them? It is a good question. How will she feed, cloth, and educate eight little ones, plus the 6 that came before them?
Could she dare sell pictures of her babies? She gets the wrath of hell but celebrities do it all the time, for a lot of money! Is she actually contemplating a reality show? Well, let's see. We watch "Jon and Kate Plus Eight", and a "Table for 12"...
Is she exploiting her babies any more so than the thousands of moms who run there little ones from audition to audition, praying they'll become the next big thing"?
If you think about it, it's the only thing she can do. Unfortunately government funds and food stamps aren't close to enough to take care of a family of 4, let alone one of 14!
I don't mean to sound like "Chris Crocker"battling for Brittney Spears, but please, leave Nadya alone...

Update: wow, just in. Cristina Raines, ex-fiance of suspected wife killer Drew Peterson has hired Gloria Allred to represent her. Maybe now she'll find something more worthwhile to do with her time!

What's up with all the haters :

Whether you agree or disagree with the antics of the now infamous Octomom, Nadya Suleman, all eight babies are here...Let the high and mighty rant, the greedy rave, they are her children, and it is her parental right to raise them.

Nadya appeared on daytime TVs Dr. Phil, defending herself against accusations of seeking publicity and fame to the detriment of her (OMG!) 14 children, including octuplets conceived by in vitro fertilization, and born in January. Gloria Allred, an equally self promoting, self proclaimed women's rights activist, and fearless advocate against discrimination. (her blog actually says that! gag) wages war against Octomom after she throws out "Angels in Waiting", a group of nurses Allred brought in to help take care of the babies. Nadya then had her nanny call 911 to have Gloria removed from the premises.

Even Hollywood's most famous mom, and Nadya's idol, Angelina Jolie called her "creepy". (This from a woman who wore a vial of Billy Bob's blood on a chain around her neck for over a year).

Every"expert" on network TV has had a commentary on the sins of this mother, and occasionally about one of her other 6 kids. When the video of Nadya's child #4 was released, calling one of the paparazzi a"bitch" it was scandalous. They wondered what kind of influences she was inflicting on her children.

Shame on us for complaining, and worse, making jokes about "our tax dollars" going to feed Nadya's, and countless other innocent children. Programs like (WIC) and (ADC) are designed for exactly that. To help women and children who need it.

Dont ask if you don't want to know ::

Let me say first and foremost, I do believe gay marriage should be allowed by Law. I disagree with Carrie Prejean, 1st runner up in the Miss USA pageant last Sunday. I believe a couple who are in love and want to stand before God, family, and friends, gay or straight, should absolutely have a right to do so. The marriage contract should be as legally binding to a gay couples as it is to a heterosexual couple.

This said, I also believe an individual has a right to voice an opinion, which Carrie chose to do when asked by Parez Hilton, pageant judge (and Hollywood blogger), if she thought more states should legalize gay marriage... Weighing her answer, and fumbling to find the words, she finally said she was in favor of the "opposite" of same sex marriage. "It's my opinion marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offence to anyone" The audience responded with a mix of cheers and cat-calls.

Obviously, Parez Hilton, a gay man himself, took her answer quite personally and countered by calling her a "dumb bitch" and "thought about calling her a c__t". He has stated on several news/aka entertainment programs, and all over the Internet that she was the first Miss USA contestant ever to be "booed" by an audience. My final thought...It's a BEAUTY pageant for pete sake! It's young girls in bikinis and high heels, with big hair and big boobs. It's not a political arena. Don't ask the big questions if you don't want to hear the answers. Class Perez, class!

I was very young when John Kennedy took office, when Jackie wore designer clothes, and the children played happily in the oval office while daddy conducted world business. I vaguely recall the televised funeral in fuzzy black and white, and little Jon Jon. saluting daddys casket as it drove by. I missed Camaelot. I grew up on Reaganomics, big hair Hollywood, while raising my own family.
I was, and still am, happy to see Obama and his young family living in the White house. I'm guessing Malia has Jonas Brothers posters, dots her "I 's'" with little hearts, and daydreams about being a grownup in the world of 6th grade . I'm guessing Michelle, (like the rest of us would) hopes the camera doesn't really add 10 pounds, and I'm guessing too, the young couple have found ways to sneak a little "alone" time.
It's refreshing to see a man with stars in his eyes, fresh ideas and an opportunity. Obama is
willing to stand up to the "good ol' boys club" with their old, tired, Republican cynicism.
Don't get me wrong, I have no romantic idea's of a perfect world with everyone holding hands singing "Kubaya' . I stopped beleiving in Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy too, but I want to hang my hat on a man who beleieves he can make a difference, change worn out policies, and mend broken relationships between America and it allies.
Alot of Obama's "to-do" list has moved to simmer on a back burner. He hasn't found the remedy for peace (my son-in law is still in Iraq) or disarmed North Korea and the maniac who runs it. His 7 Billion plus stimulus package has yet to stabilized our floundering economy. Families are still losing homes far faster than making the purchase of "the American Dream". But be fair. Much like the disaster of 09.11 for Bush in his first 100 days, he has dealt with floods, pirates, extreme border violence, and now Swine Flu.
He blackened his own eyes with the choice of Cabinette members who evaded taxes and sold seats to the senate.
He has, however laid groundwork for stem cell research and healthcare. He promisea to mend relationships with world leaders and has so far traveled to Africa and Mexico.
All in 100 days.

Missing...and Worse

Three Children, 3 disappearances, all in Florida within a 6 month time frame.

The first to disappear was baby Caylee Anthony, gone over a month before she was even reported missing by her grandmother Cindy in July. She was only two and a half years old, when her mother Casey finally admitted she had been "kidnapped" by her nanny, Zaneida Gonzalez.
She said she had been trying to find her little girl by herself for the last 30 days. "I know she's okay, she's close, a mother can feel these things, you know?"
Friends and family had heard of Zanny, though no one had ever actually met her. Rumors began circulating that "Zanny the nanny" was actually "Xanax", used to put Caylee to sleep while her mommy partied. (there is no documented proof)
Detectives had found searches on Casey's computer though, inquiring about how to make chloroform, and later found traces of that chemical, along with other evidence, in the trunk of her car.
Cindy and Caylee had argued that day, and Cindy had made 3 calls to 911. She told the operator she wanted Casey arrested for stealing money from her. By the third call, she could barely contain herself "We found our daughters car today and it smells like a dead body was in the damn car!"
Days later she retracted the statement, claiming that Casey had probably ran over a small animal, or even more likely, the smell had been a pizza, rotting in the trunk.
With overwhelming evidence mounting against her, it is almost certain Casey is responsible for the disappearance of her little daughter, and ultimately in her death. She is now in the Orange County jail being held without bond. Her trial is scheduled for sometime in October. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for 1st degree murder and child abuse. After weeks of searching Caylee's skeletal remains were found by a utility worker in a wooded area only a few blocks from her families home. She had been stuffed into garbage bags and thrown into the woods.

A new video has been released by Ron Cummings on his lawyers website. It is a plea for Haleigh's safe return. It aired on TV news channels everywhere. "Please don't give up," Ronald pleads, "keep the tips coming in, one could bring her home." His voice cracking with emotion he spoke to Haleigh, "if your watching baby, I love you, we’re still looking for you." then pleaded "whoever has Haleigh, please bring her home safe."

The night of February 12th, a little 5 year old girl disappeared from her home sometime in the night. Her (now)stepmother, Misty Coslin, barely 17 herself, was in charge of watching her then boyfriend, Ron Cummings children while he worked the night shift. She had put Haleigh and her little brother to bed. She said she had gotten up to use the bathroom and noticed the kitchen door, which they rarely used, was being held open by a cinder block.
She immediately called Ronald, who was working the night shift, to come home. Something had happened to Haleigh. She had just vanished.
Two months have come and gone with theories, suspicions, and accusations, but still no sign of Haleigh. Battles rage between Ronald and his ex-wife, Crystal Sheffield, who have fought furiously from the beginning.
Ronald Cummings has not only dealt with the disappearance of Haleigh, but also allegations by Crystal stating publicly that he had mentally, and once even physically, abused her when they were married , and had proof he had also abused their children once he had gained full custody of them. She and her lawyer, Kim Picazio, made television appearances showing pictures of little Haleigh, swollen and bruised, with both of her eyes black.
The following night though, both women were caught off guard when program host, Nancy Grace(Tru TV) found evidence that the injuries had actually happened during a play ground accident and had been documented by the school nurse. (She had also found Crystal had previously accused someone of stealing her car and when confronted she admitted she had lied. The police charged her at that time for making a false report.
The wranglings between Haleighs parents have proven to be detrimental to their little girls case
and need to refocus on a cause important to them both. Bringing their little girl home.

Adji Desir has been missing from Immokalee, Florida since Jan. 10, 2009

















I had watched TV clips on the disappearance of little Adji Desir, and made a point to check in on his updates often.
Amidst rumblings and rumors of racism, Adji's case is not without it's controversy. He had been described as a developmentally disabled child with the mind of a 2-year-old. He disappeared from just outside his grandmother’s Farm Worker Village home.
The first few days Adji went missing the hope was that he had just wandered too far and gotten lost. It never occurred to me he would not be found. He would be hungry, scared, and safe.
With the coverage last week on "Americas Most Wanted" profiling the disappearance of the 6 year old little boy, it's hoped it will breathe new life into a now 3 month old case.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $23,500 reward, an FBI reward of $10,000, and the community has collected $5,500 for information leading to the whereabouts of Adji.
The Sheriff’s Office has released a new photo of Adji Dajir on Wednesday, in which he is wearing the two-tone, blue sneakers he wore the day he disappeared. Investigators hope the sneakers will generate fresh leads.

The judge in the Sandra Cantu murder case agreed to seal her autopsy report Friday, saying if the results were released, there would be "public outrage."
"We haven't seen anything like this in San Joaquin County," Superior Court Judge Linda L. Loftus said. "A lot of courts have never seen this kind of case."
Both prosecution and defense attorneys were in favor of sealing the report. "In the interest of a fair trial, for both sides in this case, that is the only option," Loftus said. "There would be
overriding prejudice if the record is unsealed."
She said there would be a great amount of "public outrage" if the results were released and it would also be an invasion of privacy into the lives of Sandra's family. She said the rape and murder of a child is viewed by the public as a "heinous crime."
Melissa Huckaby, who faces murder charges in the case enhanced with special circumstances, kidnapping, lewd or lascivious acts on a child and rape by a foreign object — was ordered to return to court May 22. She didn't enter a plea during a Friday afternoon court appearance.
Prosecutors said they've turned over more than 500 pages of documents and several audio recordings of police interviews with Huckaby.
Sandra's body was found stuffed inside a large suitcase in a farm pond on April 6. The little girl was last seen alive near her home on March 27.

Angies justice:: He's Guilty!

Angie Zapata was murdered by Allen Andrade. He hit her twice in the head with a fire extinguisher. He began rifeling through her things, including her car keys (which he drove around in for days, filling it with gas on her credit card)
Noticing she had recovered his earlier blows he hit her a third time, caving in the side of her head and killing her. Angie was a transgender male and was only 18 years old.

Guilty verdict in Angie Zapata murder trial

(now convicted) Allen Andrades defence atty. makes an appearance on Court TV this morning, calling him a polite, soft spoken man, a loving man who cried when his sister made a final statement. A man who loved his family and has friends who love him. He always "treated me with respect" and thanked me. Below, just a few words from a soft spoken, polite and loving man:

Andrade made phone calls to to his ex-girlfriends in which he often dehumanized Angie by calling her "it" and justified his actions by blaming her. She had deceived him..."Gay things need to die"

In a phone call to a girlfriend, Angie Tyree, he said: "It's not like I just went up to a school teacher and shot her in the head, you know what I mean? It's not like I went up to a law-abiding straight citizen."

Another jailhouse call between Andrade and another ex-girlfriend, Felicia Mendoza, she tells him "I know that person f__ing deserved it." Then she asks Andrade why he drove around in "its" car for days after the crime, because it made him seem like he wasn't "showing remorse"
Andrade told her " I didn't have sex with that mother f__er." then he asks Mendoza if she had seen "it" with make-up.

Andrade's DNA was found on several items in Angie's apartment, including a pink vibrator.

Allen Andrade will be sentenced to life without parole. A jury has found a Colorado man guilty of first-degree murder for beating a transgender woman to death with a fire extinguisher. Jurors deliberated only two hours Wednesday before convicting 32-year old Allen Andrade in the death of 18-year-old Angie Zapata in Greeley. Andrade was also convicted of a bias-motivated crime. It's believed to be the first time anyone has been prosecuted under Colorado's bias crime statute for a crime involving a transgender person. Prosecutors argued Andrade killed Zapata out of his dislike for homosexuals. Defense attorneys say Andrade snapped when he discovered Zapata was biologically male. A first degree murder conviction carries a mandatory life sentence without parole.

Earlier this morning, the U.S Treasury Department was presented a mock check made out in
the amount of $14 billion dollars. The check total represents the combined savings and tax revenues that would be generated by regulating the sale and production of maijuana.
Somewhere between 8000 to 10,000 people gathered Monday for the rally at the University of Colorado's Norlin Quad. Everyone let out a cheer along with a huge cloud of smoke! At exactly 4:20 p.m. 3,000 more people gathered at the Civic Center Park in Denver, chanting "freedom!" sharing joints, live music, and speeches supporting consumers who are ready and willing to contribute tax revenue to our struggling economy,"

I hate admitting I was as cynical as the judges by the appearance of Susan Boyle Her music is not what I would normally listen to, though her voice is smooth and soothing, like a lullaby The tragedy here is an angelic voice getting far less "air time", than what she herself is getting on "face time".
I think there must be a little "British Hype" going on, at Susan's expense. Admittedly, the 47 year old is what my Grandma would have called "plain", but absolutely, never, ever, UGLY! Granted, a little lipstick, mascara, and a cute little haircut (or even comb through) would have been in order for an appearance on a National Television Show. I think the Producers were not only planning, but counting on the"shock factor" and mind you, the ratings have soared!
Each season of Americas' "somewhat equivalent, "American Idol" they travel far and wide to find worthy contestants for the next new Event. Even local news stations have began airing the progression from state to state. Among huge crowds are people from all walks, people living in their cars to be able to afford a chance at the big time. All sizes, and I do mean all sizes, and shapes. Every Race, every Gender.
In the early rehearsals everyone looks pretty normal, you know, unless they have some kind of "shtick" (which never helps...so please stop!) Otherwise its status quot. Fat, short, tall, well dressed, or ridiculous, gay and straight. Some have talent...many do not. In other words, like us. They all just look like us, regular people.
By the time the first group of twenty four have dwindled to the final twelve they are all looking pretty damn professional! `Hair and makeup, flawless, with the help of stylists, and costumes fitted to flatter even the most unusual body shapes. By now everyone looks like a f_ ing movie star. I personally didn't remember "David Cook" looking like the hot body on his CD cover.

In the case of Kelsey Briggs, it seemed the professional media, stepped up their ante and put others on trial except the actual perpetrator who over nine months slowly set out to murder little Kelsey Briggs.

I can't help myself...I go back to it over and over. The forums, news clippings, blog posts, and video, after video. How had I never heard of Kelsey Briggs. (have I been living under a rock this last few years!). This story is so much larger than any headline!

Kelsey died before her third birthday, caused by blunt force trauma to her abdomen (meaning she was either punched or kicked in the stomach) Michael Porter, who all had thought well of, a family man, and dream come true to his new wife Raye Dawn and her baby daughter. He had become Kelsey's stepfather only nine months earlier. He charged and convicted of of her death. April of 2006, a year after she died, her body was exhumed and a second autopsy was performed. It was documented at that time she had also been sexually asaulted.

Her mother, Raye Dawn Smith, who was not at home at the time of Kelseys death, was also charged with Enabling Child Abuse and sentenced to 27 years in prison. To this day she claims she had no idea, and saw absolutely no signs that her baby was being abused by her new husband.
Since her trial and conviction petitions and websites from all over the country have become devoted to her appeal. Many feel she was wrongly accused, and is innocent of all but being naive.

Kelsey's paternal grandmother and her father Lance Briggs, had a hand in helping Michael Porter. Kathie Briggs met and exchanged emails with him several times preceeding Raye Dawns trial to discuss his testimopny. He never went to trial and charges were reduced to one count Child Abuse, and one count Enabling Child Abuse. Did they hate Raye Dawn so much that they were willing to conspire with the man who murdered their baby? Or was there more to it than that?

Kelsey's paternal grandmother, Kathie Briggs created the website "Kelseys Purpose", along with the video above. It is one of hundreds of websites, though I took issue with this one, beginning with the introduction.

It has been proven that at the time of his daughters death he was not in Iraq "serving his country" as portrayed by his mother and the media, but in a military drug rehab center at Fort Benning, Georgia.

No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm, and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else). You pull the hair right off. No fuss.
How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!) So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other, stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my 'genius' kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. Cold wax,' yeah...right!) I lay the strip across my thigh, hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works! Okay, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this!
Hair removal no longer eludes me! I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire. With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship. I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-hoo and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip). I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRIIIPPP! I'm blind! Blinded from pain! OMG!
Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP! Another deep breath...and RIP! Everything is spinning and spotted. I think I may pass out....I must stay conscious...I must stay conscious. Do I hear crashing drums? Breathe...breathe...Okay.
Back to normal. I want to see my trophy, a wax-covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair. I hold up the strip.
There's no hair on it? There's no hair on it! Where's the hair? Where's the wax? Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair! The hair that should be on the strip...but it's not! I touch. I'm touching wax. I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair. Then I make the next BIG mistake...
Remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet? I know I need to do something. So I put my foot down. It'sealed shut! My butt is sealed shut. Sealed shut!
I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do. I think silently to myself 'Please don't let me get the urge to poop.'
What can I do to melt the wax? Hot water? Hot water melts wax! I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, and immerse the wax b and it should melt, then I can gently wipe it off, right?
Wrong. I get in the tub. The water is just slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war... or sterilize surgical equipment! I sit.
Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together is having them glued together, then glued to the bottom of the tub in scalding hot water. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.
So now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I have cemented myself to the porcelain! God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!
I call my best friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and has some secret knowledge of how to get me undone. Well, it is a good conversation starter "Hi Mary...so, my butt and hoo-hoo are glued together to the bottom of tub.'
There's a slight pause. She doesn't know what to say at first. She knows no secret tricks for removal. She does try to hide her laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where the wax is located. 'Are we talking cheeks, or hole, or hoo-hoo?'
She's laughing out loud by now...I can hear her. I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box. 'Yeah, right!' Why not be the joke of someone else's night while we go through various solutions.
I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor. Nothing feels better than having your girl goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in boiling water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!
By now the brain is not working, dignity has betrayed me, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling over this event. Mary's still talking when I finally see my saving grace... The lotion they give you to remove the excess wax!
What do I have to lose at this point? I rub some on and O_M_G! The scream probably woke the neighborhood and scared the hell out of my friend. It's painful, but I really don't care. 'It works! It works!'
After a slightly sarcastic 'congratulations', Mary hangs up. I have successfully removed the remainder of wax but to my grief and despair... the hair is still there! All of it!
I recklessly shave it off. Hell, I'm numb by now anyway. Nothing hurts. I could have amputated my own leg at this point and had less pain!

Next I'm trying Hair Color...

Turning the tables on Nigeria's "e-mail Con men"

Mike is a 'scambaiter", dedicated to fighting back against those who send out the notorious 419 e-mails, promising untold wealth to anyone gullible or naive enough to disclose their bank details.
Mike asked us not to use his full name because he's dealing with some heavy cross-border criminals. His group of volunteers at 419eater.com use their computer skills to fool the scammers, to disrupt their crimes, and to have some fun at the scammer's expense. Every day, millions of people get e-mails like this:

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am fine today and how are you? I hope this letter will find you in the best of health. I am Prince Joe Eboh, the Chairman of the 'Contract Award Committee', of the 'Niger Delta Development Commission , a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
NDDC was set up by the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha who died on 18th June 1998, to manage the excess revenue accruing from the sales of Petroleum and its allied products as a domestic increase in the petroleum products to develop the communities in the Niger Delta Oil producing areas. (The estimated annual revenue for 1999 was $45 Billion US Dollars)

Mike told me how he baited the writer of the e-mail above, "Prince Joe Eboh" I'm sure he's not a prince at all, Mike says. He contacted me with a standard 419 scam.

I tried to turn it around by saying I worked for a church and we couldn't do any business with people who are not of our faith." Mike had sent a response in the name of "Father Hector Barnett" of the "Church of the Painted Breast."

I would dearly love to help you. If you ever decide to join our faith then of course I could help you both with my experience and financial support. I wish you well in your endeavour my brother.

'Now I knew the guy would write back and say: 'Well, can I join your faith?' and indeed he did says Mike.

Dear Father Hector,
If joining your faith is what it takes to help me of course, I am ready to join you. I'm from a good Christian family. I will do anything you want me to do in the faith. Don't forget that I have to transfer the money to your account as urgently as possible. Send me your account details. I hope to read your mail soon.

Our ministry was founded in 1774 by a wonderful lady by the name of Betsy Carrington. She spent many of her first preaching years in Kenya, spreading the holy gospel amongst the local people there. She was the first person male or female to promote Christian texts and beliefs to the Masai warrior tribe.
The Holy Church of The Order of "The Red Breast initiation ceremony" The most famous account is when as a test, she had to remove the top part of her clothes and paint the top half of her body and breast with the red Masai war-paint as a gesture of faith and belief to them so that they would accept her and trust her. She was almost immediately accepted by them, and was one of the most trusted westerners known at that time.
As a qualification to enter the Holy Church of The Order of The Red Breast, all followers must go through the initiation procedure that Miss Carrington made so famous. Using image software, Mike made up an "initiation" picture, and Prince Joe duly carried out the induction and e-mailed back a photo of himself in the properly sanctified state.

Dear Brother Hector,
I want to thank the Almighty God himself for the opportunity I have to be a member of this great church, The Holy Church Of The Painted Breast. I'm looking forward to establishing a branch of the Church here, but I'll like us to finish everything about the business proposal, which I sent to you earlier...

With the picture having been sent, Prince Joe Eboh then tried to hit me for $18,000 in processing fees for transferring millions, Mike says. He wrote back as Father Hector, saying that the church had plenty of money, but there was a withdrawal fee of $80. I persuaded him to send me the $80, which he did, inside a birthday card, by courier," Mike says.
Former Scotland Yard fraud officer Tom Craig says that it is unprecedented for the 419 con artists to part with any money. He suggests the checks may have been forged.
Mike says that any money they get from these reverse stings goes to a children's charity in the north of England.

Exporting Snow

Father Hector of the Church of the Painted Breast then entered a troubling period of religious uncertainty.

Dear Joe,
This is your good friend Hector Barnett. Please do not be alarmed that I am contacting you from a different e-mail address. I will explain what has happened.
Mike, I have been troubled recently after the death of a dear friend of mine, Minnie Mowse. She was a very, very dear friend indeed, and her death affected me greatly and started to make me question my faith. I have decided to leave the church and join a travelling circus.
I have already made two very good friends, and tomorrow I will be starting my circus training with them...

Prince Joe then began receiving e-mails from another "Reverend" of the Church of the Painted Breast, worried about the disappearance of Father Hector and $18,000 from church funds.
Joe already knew from Hector's increasingly eccentric e-mails that he had put the money into a business exporting snow to Siberia.
